Tourist itineraries and attractions in Paraíba: the Rock of the Mouth
Located in the municipality of Araruna in the Curimataú region of Paraíba, the state park "Pedra da Boca" was created in 2000, protecting the 157.3 hectares of Caatinga in the northern part of the municipality of Araruna in Paraíba, on the border with Rio Grande do Norte.
The park has a rocky composition of porphyritic granitic composition, with traces of gneisses and quartzites, and is anchored in the foothills of the "Mountain Araruna" and "Mountain of Confusion".
In addition to the significant biodiversity (there are at least 21 species of reptiles and amphibians, 16 species of mammals and 125 species of plants), the park has in its exuberant relief a major tourist attraction which attracts scholars, eco-tourists, lovers nature and extreme sports.
The main attraction is the "Rock of the Mouth" from a height of 336m, which has a slit-shaped human mouth, and focuses adventure and eco-tourism.
In addition to rock climbing, the State Park of Pedra da Boca has some caves and cave scriptures, housing a piece of history of human occupation inside Paraiba.
